River Cruise
The mangrove and river cruise is highly recommended to visitors here as it allows you to explore the mangrove forest and the different types of wildlife and geological locations by boat. Traversing through Kilim river your guide will make all the necessary stops but sometimes tourists are able to spot a shore pit viper hanging from a tree or otters playing in the river before he does. Watch brahminy kites feed, monkeys swim, land walking fish scurry away from the drone of the boat, vividly coloured kingfishers swoop down for a kill, various types of mud crabs disappear into the mangrove swamp, monitor lizards lazily bask on the mud and venture into lime stone caves for a glimpse of a flying lemur. Guests have a choice of breaking for lunch at the fish farm, a floating farm with a restaurant attached where the operators cook up any fish you pick from the farm. Here, you can get up close with some of our largest river fish, feed sting rays, hold a crab in your hands or just learn from the guide about the various types of fish that make this winding tributary their home.
